I have been neglecting my blog for a while. the reason being that I have been helping my son defend himself against the predations of his ex wife.
Let me give you the background and invite your views.
He met her on a trip in a bus to China with 17 other people, she came from the UK.
Prior to meeting her he owned his house, about £180,000 worth, he had a Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and a Volkswagen Beetle Convertible. Plus shares and cash, rather nicely set up for a young man in his 20's.
She had nothing apart from credit card debts.
After returning from the trip to China she moved in, became pregnant and insisted on getting married. As I disapproved they went of to John o Groats and got married.
10 months later she walked out taking the child with her, having run up debts of £48,000.
She is now demanding, £125,000 so she can buy a house, plus £850 per month maintenance plus half his pension. The insane thing is that the UK Courts seem to agree this is fair.
The lessons to be learned from this story are:
don't get married
if you want a sexual partner go hire one its cheaper. Even assuming he did it once a day, which I doubt, he has effectively paid £400 a time, you could get real live and throbbing porn star for that.
young men you have been warned don't get married massdebate instead
tomorrow I will ponder the wonders of the US and the UK policy and actions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

You may be sure that should he ever be in the same position again a prenup will be drawn up by the most expensive lawyer I can find.
I did produce him a, almost joking, form to carry in his pocket so that should he ever be tempted to buy a woman a drink he first gets her to sign a disclaimer." purchase by me of this drink for consumption by you does not create a legally binding contract or agreement" etc etc perhaps I should publish it as a part of the average guys defence mechanism.
steinberg
I am surprise he's still alive.
You need to read 'The Laundrymen' by Jeffrey Robinson'. For a few idea's but above all for inspirationn.
If nothing else, sell up assets and tell the courts most of it was lost at a casino. They have trouble (and i mean huge next to almost impossible, and thats the Serious Fraud Squad+interpol) chasing big time crooks with that one.
Suggest you start an internet company, nothing more than a domain name + business bank account (registered in another name), you are legally allowed to do this, as long, as its not for fraudulent reasons.
Sell assets to the business. -> get the divorce -> change your name -> sell assets back to your self under the changed name.
If he paid her depts (and i just bet he did,, i suggest he takes that matter to court under a civil action. The aim here is not to get the money back, but to show her in her true light. As a bankruptee etc, you need to do this before the divorce.
I am sure the courts will view her in a different light.
tragic tale.
